After college internships at Glamour and Women’s Wear Daily, Ashley Gilroy Wein took a four month whirlwind trip through Europe, the Middle East, and Asia that became a life-changing experience that created J/Hadley Jewelry.

On Ashley’s last day of traveling in India, she discovered a small family-owned jewelry shop. That visit was the beginning of a two-year apprenticeship under the Jain family in the world of fine jewelry, where she not only learned about gemstones, design and manufacturing, but how to successfully launch and run a company. After three years of working under the tutelage of the family-run jewelry empire in India, Ashley knew it was time to take what she learned and create her something she could call her own.

Ashley returned to New York and launched J/Hadley. The name J/Hadley is a tribute to the ones that gave Ashley the knowledge and confidence to start her business. The “J” is for the Jain Family, who took a chance on a young American woman, taught her their family business, and trusted that she would create something wonderful. “Hadley” is a nod to her family that hosts family reunions on Hadley Street in a small town outside of Nashville, Tennessee, where hard work, values, and a love for life were instilled at a young age.

Seven years later, J/Hadley is known for its color-focused, diamond-accented statement earrings, bangles, and rings—all with one-of-a-kind stones. Each stone is sourced from its native region in the world, helping to make Ashley’s designs both attainable and unique.

J/Hadley Jewelry has been featured in countless publications (Vogue, Elle, Glamour and Lucky, to name a few) and is highly regarded by stylists and the Hollywood set, with the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Sofia Vergara, and Jessica Alba all sporting various designs.
